Apple has released a major security update iOS 18.4.1 to strengthen the privacy of its millions of users, in which all iPhone users have been urged to install it immediately, as two security flaws have been found in the device using which hackers can attack your phone. These flaws are affecting the iPhone's CoreAudio and Pointer Authentication System, allowing hackers to edit arbitrary code on your device and access sensitive data. Let's learn about it...
Attack on CoreAudio
Apple says that this attack on CoreAudio was a large-scale cyber attack on iOS devices targeting certain people. In such a situation, if an audio stream processes a dangerous media file created in a particular way, then hackers can run the desired code. Apple has also said that we have received a report that states that by taking advantage of this flaw, hackers can target certain people on iOS. In such a situation, this update fixes the necessary bugs and improves security, which you should install as soon as possible.
These problems were fixed.
A report states that by using these flaws, certain people were targeted, including government officials and some journalists. To fix this problem, Apple corrected the memory corruption error, so that hacking can be prevented on a large scale and the safety of users can be improved.
The second problem is related to the Return Pointer Authentication Code i.e. RPAC, which is a security feature and prevents tampering with the code. Hackers used to bypass security by taking advantage of the flaw in this feature. With the new update, the company has also fixed this and made the device even more secure.
