Three Twenty20 Internationals and two One-Day Internationals are part of the historic tour, which marks Zimbabwe women’s first-ever trip to the United States for a bilateral or any other cricket series. All games will take place at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas between April 25 and May 3.

The T20I phase of the trip will begin with games scheduled for April 25, 27, and 29 between the two teams. The ODI series, which is set for May 1 and 3, will come next.

“This historic engagement comes as part of ZC’s unwavering commitment to increasing international playing opportunities for the Zimbabwe Women’s national team across both formats of the game,” a statement from Zimbabwe Cricket said.

The last time Zimbabwean and American women played each other was during an ODI series in Harare in October 2024.

Prior to the squad’s departure, Walter Chawaguta, the head coach of the Zimbabwe women’s team, characterised the trip as a significant milestone for his team.

“The US tour serves as the beginning of a gradual build-up to the July Ireland series, which will allow us to assess our current position in relation to the FTP the following year. Additionally, it begins our preparation for the Africa qualifiers later this year,” he said.

ZC has selected a well-rounded lineup of 15 players for the next series in Texas, which includes both intriguing fresh talent and seasoned veterans.

Experience and leadership will be invaluable from veterans like Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano, Josephine Nkomo, Modester Mupachikwa, Precious Marange, Loreen Tshuma, Chiedza Dhururu, and Nomvelo Sibanda.

Young prodigies Kelis Ndhlovu and Beloved Biza are among the brightest young talents in the nation who join them.

As Zimbabwe Women continue to prepare for the future, the team also has talented players Lindokuhle Mabhero, Natasha Mthomba, and Adel Zimunu.

“The squad was selected to reflect a ‘bigger picture’ mindset, which is a drive to widen our player base and inject a healthy dose of competition for spots within the player group,” Chawaguta said.

Team Zimbabwe: Ndhlovu Kelis, Nkomo Josephine, Pasipanodya Runyararo, Sibanda Nomvelo, Tshuma Loreen, Zimunu Adel, Chipare Francesca, Dhururu Chiedza, Mabhero Lindokuhle, Makusha Tendai, Marange Precious, Mthomba Natasha, Mugeri-Tiripano Chipo, and Mupachikwa Modester.
