JSW MG Motor India rolls out updated Hector SUV with biofuel-ready engine, exciting benefits under Midnight Carnival campaign

MG Hector 2025 Debuts with E20-Compliant Powertrain

JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the 2025 MG Hector in the Indian market, starting at an attractive price of ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The headline upgrade for this year’s model is its E20-compliant engine—capable of running on 20% ethanol-blended petrol—meeting the Government of India’s mandate for all gasoline-powered vehicles produced after April 1, 2025.

The 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. This move aligns MG Hector with India’s growing biofuel initiatives, enhancing environmental sustainability while maintaining the SUV’s robust performance. MG’s Astor model had already adopted E20 standards in 2024.

Midnight Carnival: Offers Worth ₹4 Lakh

In conjunction with the launch, MG Motor India has introduced its exclusive ‘Midnight Carnival’ campaign. Running through June 30, 2025, this nationwide initiative allows buyers to enjoy substantial benefits:

  • Up to ₹4 lakh in savings

  • Extended 2-year/1 lakh km warranty on top of the standard 3-year plan

  • 2 additional years of roadside assistance

  • 50% discount on RTO charges

  • Complimentary MG accessories for current Hector owners

Additionally, 20 lucky customers purchasing the new Hector stand a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to London. MG showrooms will remain open until midnight on weekends to facilitate customer engagement during the campaign.

Engine and Performance: What Powers the Hector?

The 2025 MG Hector is offered with two robust engine options:

  • 1.5L Turbocharged Petrol

    • Power: 142 bhp

    • Torque: 250 Nm

    • Transmission: 6-speed Manual / CVT Automatic

  • 2.0L Turbo Diesel

    • Power: 168 bhp

    • Torque: 350 Nm

    • Transmission: 6-speed Manual

The diesel engine, shared with the Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, and Jeep Compass, continues without an automatic transmission option. The previously available DCT for the petrol version has been phased out due to suboptimal fuel efficiency and responsiveness.

MG’s Commitment to Sustainability

Speaking on the launch, Rakesh Sen, Director of Sales at JSW MG Motor India, stated:

“The enduring popularity of the Hector highlights its outstanding quality and an alignment with our customers’ needs. The introduction of the E20-compliant version demonstrates in no uncertain terms our commitment to innovation and sustainability in everything we do.”

The new 2025 MG Hector not only meets modern emission regulations but also enhances customer value through robust feature offerings and extended support, reinforcing its position as a front-runner in India’s SUV segment.
