The Delhi–Vadodra–Mumbai Expressway is a 1350 km long expressway which connects Indias national capital New Delhi to its financial capital Mumbai. Being seen as one of the most critical highways of India its currently 6 lane but is expandable to 8 lanes. The Delhi–Vadodra–Mumbai Expressway is one of the longest expressway in India with maximum speed of up to 120 km/h and is expected to be a big boost to the economic growth of the nation.
As a result of the highway various tier-2 and tier-3 cities like Ratlam Kota Vadodara and Surat will receive a massive boost in the economy. Media reports have it that state-of-the-art residential and commercial projects may come up in these areas which may start a new era of development.
Cost of Delhi–Vadodra–Mumbai Expressway project
Costing around Rs 95000 crore the Delhi–Vadodra–Mumbai Expressway project will extend across six states — Delhi Haryana Rajasthan Madhya Pradesh Gujarat and Maharashtra. After the project is fully operational the 1386 km stretch of the highway will be the longest and most advanced highway in India.
As per a report by Asianet the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will not only reduce travel time but will also bring about a significant change in the real estate sector. Reports also say that the construction of the Delhi–Vadodra–Mumbai Expressway will reduce the current 24 hours travel time to just 12 hours.
