The Electricity Department has started a big campaign against power theft in the state. In this episode, the department's vigilance team and officials conducted a special checking campaign in feeder areas with high line loss of Sambhal district. In the raids conducted in Nurio Sarai and Hauz Bhadesarai areas, electricity theft was caught in several houses and commercial units.

During the morning raid in the Nurio Sarai area, many houses were found to have illegal use. Investigation also revealed that two sewing factory in the area were being operated with stolen electricity. The officials immediately started legal action by cutting the power supply.

Investigation also went on in Raisatti area

After this, the departmental team reached the Mohalla Hauz Bhadesarai of Raisatti, where several more cases were revealed during the checking operation. SDO city Santosh Tripathi said that power theft has been confirmed in a total of 26 houses. Which has stirred up.

70 lakh fine and FIR

The Electricity Department has lodged an FIR against all the theft and a fine of ₹ 70 lakh has been imposed. Officials say that those who steal electricity will not be spared. This campaign will continue continuously.
