Early in the morning, Prime Minister Modi arrived at the Adampur Airbase in Punjab. There, he engaged with Air Force personnel, receiving updates and conversing with the troops. This visit came just a day after Modi delivered a stern and clear message to Pakistan, emphasizing that the ceasefire arrangements remained intact in Jammu and Kashmir and bordering cities. In his address to the nation on Monday night, PM Modi stated that India has halted its retaliatory actions against Islamabad's terrorists and military installations, but has not ceased them entirely. He issued a strong warning to Pakistan, asserting that India will not tolerate any form of 'nuclear blackmail.' Modi indicated that operations against Islamabad have been put on hold, with future actions dependent on Pakistan's conduct.
Shortly after his speech, reports emerged of 10 to 12 drones being intercepted in Samba, Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, the administration in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, reported hearing explosions. Meanwhile, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) from both India and Pakistan engaged in a 30-minute conversation via hotline around 5 PM on Monday. They discussed maintaining the agreement made on May 10 to cease all military actions against each other.
The military confirmed that both sides reiterated their commitment to ensure that no shots would be fired and that neither would initiate any aggressive or hostile actions against the other. On May 10, India and Pakistan had agreed to immediately halt all military operations on land, air, and sea. This ceasefire followed four days of intense cross-border fighting, which occurred after India's Operation Sindoor targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan.
