Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia 1 VIIits latest flagship smartphone, blending premium photography technology with powerful performance. Building on the Xperia 1 VI, the new model introduces significant camera enhancementsparticularly in the ultrawide sensor, and updates to display and connectivitywhile retaining Sony’s signature design features.
The Xperia 1 VII maintains its triple-lens rear setupincluding:
Main Camera: 24mm f/1.9 with a 1/1.35″ Exmor T sensor, OIS, and PDAF.
Telephoto Camera: 85–170mm variable zoom with a 1/3.5″ Exmor RS sensor and telemacro functionality.
Ultrawide Camera: Upgraded 16mm lens now features a brighter f/2.0 aperture and a larger 1/1.56″ Exmor RS sensor — 2.1x bigger than before.
The camera system integrates advanced AI capabilities inspired by Sony’s Alpha series, including real-time eye autofocus (for humans and animals), AI white balance, AI subject recognition, AI exposure controland AI-based depth sensing. The device also supports Ultra HDRmaking visuals more vibrant on compatible screens.
Sony sticks to its proven display design with a 6.5-inch 10-bit 120Hz Bravia OLED paneldelivering a 20% brightness boost over its predecessor. The 1080x2340px screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Food 2with Victus also on the rear.
