Bhubaneswar: The government of Odisha is set to organize a two-day international conference titled 'Kalinga and Southeast Asia: The Civilisational Connect' on May 24 and 25.
This event aims to delve into the profound historical, maritime, and cultural relationships that existed between ancient Kalinga, which corresponds to present-day Odisha, and various Southeast Asian countries. A senior official highlighted that the conference seeks to shine a spotlight on Odisha's rich civilizational heritage.
The event is a collaborative effort involving the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department of the state government, the Institute of Media Studies, Utkal University in Bhubaneswar, and the central government.
