Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The Bollywood film fraternity is mourning the loss of veteran filmmaker and music composer Rono Mukerji, who recently passed away. His nephew, acclaimed director Ayan Mukerji, and niece, actress Tanishaa Mukerji, were seen arriving to pay their final respects and offer condolences to the bereaved family.

Rono Mukerji, father of actress Sharbani Mukherji and brother of actor Deb Mukerji (Ayan’s father), had a career in Hindi cinema primarily during the 1970s. He was known for directing the 1973 film “Yugpurush” starring Joy Mukherjee and Saira Banu, and also composed music for films like “Ek Bar Mooskura Do” (1972).

He hailed from the influential Mukherjee-Samarth film family, a dynasty that has contributed significantly to Indian cinema for generations. This makes him the uncle of prominent Bollywood personalities including Ayan Mukerji, Tanishaa Mukerji, Kajol (daughter of his late brother Shomu Mukherjee and Tanuja), and Rani Mukerji (daughter of his late brother Ram Mukerji).

Ayan Mukerji, known for directing blockbuster films like “Brahmastra,” and Tanishaa Mukerji, recognized for her work in films and her appearance on “Bigg Boss,” were photographed looking somber as they joined their family during this difficult time. The images captured them making their way to honor their late uncle’s memory.

The passing of Rono Mukerji is a sad moment for the extended family and those in the film industry who remember his contributions.
