Turkish diplomatic sources have denied claims made in a report published by Al-Monitor news website regarding Türkiye and Turkish authorities’ involvement in Syria- diplomatic communications.

The denial specifically addresses allegations contained in an Al-Monitor article titled “US Syria envoy Barrack calls Kurdish SDF chief Kobane as Turkey mulls meeting,” according to diplomatic sources who authorized the use of their statement.

“The claims to Türkiye and our country’s authorities in the news published on Al-Monitor news site titled ‘US Syria envoy Barrack calls Kurdish SDF chief Kobane as Turkey mulls meeting’ are not true,” diplomatic sources stated.

The sources did not provide specific details about which particular claims in the Al-Monitor report they were disputing, but characterized the allegations about Turkish authorities as inaccurate.
