7 Dead And Many Injured In RCB Title Celebration: Seven people have died and over 25 have been injured in a stampede outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s bus parade in celebration of winning IPL 2025.

RCB defeated the Punjab Kings in the final of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League by six runs in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Not only was this RCB’s first title win in their 18 seasons of existence, but it was also the first IPL trophy for the team and Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli.

After the win last night, the whole team arrived in Bengaluru this morning. The team bus first went to Vidhan Soudh, the seat of the Karnataka legislature. The whole team was felicitated there by the CM of the state.

Following this function, the team was to travel to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in a bus parade for a live celebration in front of fans. Since morning, fans have been gathering on the bus route to catch a glimpse of their favourite team with a title. But for some, this gesture would result in loss of life.

Fans began converging near the stadium, especially at Gate No. 3, as this was supposed to be the team bus’s entry point into the stadium for the live celebration. However, amidst a sea of loyal RCB fans, a stampede-like situation emerged as fans started to scatter in an area too small for the number of people present there.

As a result, it is being reported that seven people, including a child, perished in what amounted to a crowd crush. Over 25 people were also injured and have been taken to the nearby Bowring Hospital in Shivajinagar.

Reports have emerged that due to the traffic in the area being halted, thousands of fans converged around the stadium for the victory parade announced for 5 pm. And while all this happened outside the stadium, the celebrations are taking place inside the stadium. However, that might not last for too long.

This incident has put a damper on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s title celebrations. These fans waited 18 years for their team to win a title, only to pass away less than 24 hours later. While it is not clear that anybody in particular is to blame for the stampede, it is clear that the authorities were not prepared for the number of people who arrived to watch their favourite cricketers with a trophy.
