The summer transfer window is now back open and with that, Arsenal will surely start confirming some new signings and advancing in pursuit of their targets.

Gyokeres boost

Everything is now pointing towards Manchester United not signing Gyokeres. and the latest claims out of Germany suggest their focus has now shifted elsewhere.

According to , United are the only club to have been in contact with Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike. They have added that the player is open to an Old Trafford switch with it likely to cost £84million (€100m) to sign him.

football.london says: It would appear as though Arsenal have a free run at signing Gyokeres if they choose to pursue him over Sesko. However, a final decision on which striker to sign is yet to be made.

That will undoubtedly be the first priority for Arteta and Co. with contact ongoing for both. It is also worth noting that outside of Arsenal, there is limited interest in Sesko as well.

Liverpool and Chelsea both appear to be in the market for a centre-forward so that could change but as things stand, Arsenal hold all the cards and their decision will be crucial towards their pursuit of trophies.

Garnacho opportunity

Man United may be hoping to fund the Ekitike move through player sales with Alejandro Garnacho as one name expected to depart. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, he would prefer to stay in the Premier League.

With Chelsea, who were strongly linked to signing him in January, prioritising a deal for Jamie Gittens instead, the Gunners have an opprtunity to swoop in and sign Garnacho.

football.london says: Garnacho is a hugely talented footballer with so much potential and he is available at a decent price given his experience and yet it is a transfer Arsenal should absolutely avoid.

There is a reason United are open to selling and for Arteta, it is desperately important he keeps the squad harmony and togetherness. It is also very likely, if selling to a direct rival, United bump up their demands or make things far from easy in any potential negotiations.

Paying a bit more for Williams or Rodrygo is not ideal but in the long run, it is likely to be the smart move.
