Vietnamese plum prices have fallen 30-40% from a year ago to VND20,000-50,000 (US$0.77-1.92) per kilogram thanks to a bumper harvest due to excellent weather.
In HCMC it is sold at VND35,000. A vendor in the city, Phuong Oanh, said she sells 50-70 kilograms a day.
“This year, plums are consistent in quality, less tart and sweeter, making them very popular.”
