Bollywood star and politician Sunny Deol decided to put his Land Rover Defender Octa to the test as he explored the winding roads of Ladakh. A wanderlust by nature, Deol is known to take up road trips after completing movies and other projects. He took Instagram by storm with his cleanshaven look and the most powerful and extreme version of the Defender, the Octa. Reports also suggest that Deol is the first Bollywood actor to be a proud owner of the Defender Octa. The SUV is finished in a grey colour with a matt finish.
Deol ditched his bearded look for a cleanshaven one, which has created quite a ripple on social media. He posted a couple of images of himself standing beside his new beast, the Defender Octa, at Baralacha Pass at an altitude of 16,040 feet in the Zanskar range of the Himalayas, connecting Lahaul in Himachal Pradesh to Leh, Ladakh. Reports state that Deol is done and dusted with the muchawaited Border 2 shoot and has decided to take a break.
A couple of years ago, the Bollywood star and politician Sunny Deol, had done something similar when he bought his first Land Rover Defender 110 in Fuji White colour. Once the SUV was delivered to him, Deol headed to the hills and even tested the Defender’s legendary offroading capabilities.
The Octa is the most extreme and powerful Defender ever manufactured by Land Rover. The SUV is powered by a 4.4litre twinturbo mildhybrid V8 engine with an output of 626 bhp and up to 750 Nm of torque. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.
Compared to the standard Defender, the Octa is 28 mm taller, 68 mm wider and boasts a total ground clearance of 323 mm. This extreme version of Defender gets an Octa Mode, which is a performancefocused offroad mode that unlocks full offroad capabilities along with dedicated antilock braking and launch control. The Defender Octa starts from Rs 2.59 crore in India.
