What did WCL say in his statement?
WCL said in its statement, ‘We have always loved cricket in WCL and our sole purpose is giving the audience some good and pleasant moment. When we came to know that Pakistan’s hockey team is coming to India this year, and recently there are contests between the two countries in some other sports including the India-Pakistan volleyball match, we thought that some memorable and happy moments should be made for the people by getting India-Pakistan matches in the WCL.

The statement further said, ‘But perhaps in this process we sat down and inadvertently provoked many sensations. More than this, we put the Indian cricket legends in an uncomfortable position that has given a lot of pride to the country. At the same time, we also impressed those brands who were supporting us only because of our love for sports. For this reason, we have decided to cancel the India-Pakistan match.

Organizers apologize
The organizers said, ‘We once again apologize to hurting all those feelings. We hope that people will understand that our aim was only that we could give some happiness to cricket lovers.

‘No conversation with terror’
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has reacted to the cancellation of India-Pakistan match in the World Championship of Legends (WCL). He tweeted and wrote, ‘Thank you. There is no conversation with terror and no cricket with those players who insulted my country at the time of struggle. The collective voice of the country can also shake the mountains. The big gratitude to all those who opposed the Indo-Pakistan cricket matches after the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor and supported my demand for cancellation of this match. This has now happened- WCL has dropped the India-Pakistan match. Jai Hind!’
