Nagpur Cancer Patients Increased: The number of cancer cases in the country is increasing rapidly, which has become a challenge for the health system. The number of patients in the district including the city is also increasing rapidly. For the health of the rural people, the ‘Dadahana Aaplya Dari’ campaign is running in the district. It found 2,870 patients during 21 months from December 11, 2023 to 31 August, 2025. Most of these 2,036 cases were found to be oral cancer.
Savner found the highest number of 679 patients in Nagpur district. The increasing number of patients has increased the concern of administration. The ‘Dharmakhana Aaplya Dari’ campaign is being implemented in the district by the Health Department of Zilla Parishad, which provides modern, quick and high quality healthcare at government expense to people of rural and remote areas of the district.
The dispensary is Aaplaya Dari Marathi word, it means in Hindi to your door. In this campaign, the implementation of reproduction and child health programs, decreasing maternal and infant mortality, non-communicable disease control programs, citizens above 30 years of age have tested diabetes and high blood pressure once a year, cancer tests once every 5 years.
Along with this, implementation of national leprosy and tuberculosis eradication program, creating public awareness towards food, nutrition and cleanliness, vaccination of children and mothers at village level, construction of healthy society, creating health awareness in every citizen at village level, issuing Ayushman Bharat Card, Abha Card.

In Nagpur district, between December 11, 2023 to 31, 9 lakh 12 thousand 858 people were examined. Of these, 4 lakh 3 thousand 811 male and 5 lakh 10 thousand 294 women were included. The number of new suspected oral cancer patients was found to be 2,036, the number of breast cancer patients 411 and the number of cervical cancer patients was found to be 423.
Along with this, high blood pressure was found in 21,325 people, tuberculosis in 10,335 people, leprosy in 3,545 people, diabetes in 11,681 people and cataract in 10,961 people. 25,332 pregnant women were also examined during this period.
