Paytm launches ‘Spend now, pay next month’ postpaid on UPI; know how to activate

One97 Communications Limited the parent company of Paytm announced the launch of Paytm Postpaid a credit line service that allows users to make payments through UPI. The service is in partnership with Suryoday Small Finance Bank with the support of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Paytm Postpaid allows users to make UPI payments throughout the month and settle the payment later providing more convenience and financial flexibility. What is Paytms new feature and how does it work? Paytm Postpaid transforms your day-to-day payments with rapid short-term credit directly within the UPI network. In contrast to other Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) products that operate through a separate app or an additional checkout stage this service uses India’s most-used payment app UPI. How does it work? The service enables users to utilize their credit line as a payment option across all merchant touchpoints whether they scan a UPI QR code shop online recharge pay bills or book travel on the Paytm app. Customers benefit from a maximum of 30 days of interest-free credit empowering them to spend instantly and settle payment the next month. Step 1: Open Paytm Postpaid: Launch the Paytm application on your device. Tap the Paytm Postpaid icon on the home screen to initiate the activation process. Step 2: Account Setup: Fill out basic personal information in order to get your credit line. Complete KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. Create the payment mandate for automatic withdrawal. Step 3: UPI Integration: Link your credit line to UPI in order to use the credit function. This allows you to avail the credit line through the known UPI interface. Step 4: Bank Selection & Authentication: Choose Suryoday Small Finance Bank as your credit provider. Authenticate using Aadhaar details for secure verification. Step 5: Final Setup: Create a UPI PIN for safety. Your Paytm Postpaid credit is now set up and activated.
