It’s the reunion fans have been eagerly waiting for. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone one of Bollywood’s most admired on-screen duos are all set to come together once again in King. The film which has already created a buzz across social media promises to bring SRK back in his charismatic action avatar while uniting him with Deepika for their sixth collaboration. Back in September Deepika had already confirmed her participation in the project through an emotional Instagram post. Sharing a heartfelt note alongside a picture of her hand clasped with SRK’s she reflected on their long-standing partnership in cinema. “The very first lesson he taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie and the people you make it with matter far more than its success. I couldn’t agree more and have applied that learning to every decision I’ve made since. And that’s probably why we’re back making our 6th movie together?” she wrote. Their journey which began with Om Shanti Om in 2007 has since seen several cinematic milestones including Chennai Express Happy New Year and Pathaan. What’s King all about? While details about King are tightly under wraps the film reportedly stars Suhana Khan alongside SRK and Deepika. Directed by Siddharth Anand who previously helmed Pathaan and co-written by Sujoy Ghosh the film promises to be a high-octane emotional action drama. Speaking at the Locarno Film Festival earlier this year SRK shared a few insights saying “It is an action drama it’s a Hindi film. It’ll be interesting. I’ve been wanting to do a film like that for some time… We are all coming together to make a cool massy action emotional film.” At a later event in Abu Dhabi he added with his trademark humour “My director Siddharth Anand is very strict. He made Pathaan also. He has asked me not to reveal what we are doing. I can’t tell you but I can assure you that it will be entertaining.
