Rajesh Banik Dies Road Accident: A former player from Tripura, who played cricket with former Team India cricketers Irfan Pathan and Ambati Rayudu, died in a road accident. This former Tripura all-rounder was injured in a road accident in Anandnagar, West Tripura on the night of 31 October. Rajesh Banik had played 42 first class matches

Born on December 12, 1984 in Krishna Nagar area of ​​Agartala, Banik had shown extraordinary cricket talent from an early age. He was a middle-order batsman and a skilled leg-break bowler. Rajesh's consistent performance in domestic cricket earned him a place in India's Under-15 team for the Costcutter World Challenge 2000, where he represented the country.

In that tournament Banik played against former Indian cricketers. Ambati Rayudu And shared the dressing room with Irfan Pathan. Rajesh also led Tripura to its best-ever performance in domestic cricket during the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy season, when the team reached the quarter-finals for the first time in its history.
