In today’s modern era, when most of the people are spending most of their time on the smartphone screen, an inspiring story has emerged from the city of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh which sets an example of patience and determination. Aditya Shankar Gangwar, resident of CBganj, Bareilly, is determined to register his name in the Guinness Book of World Records. Aditya has started his journey to create a world record for reading a book aloud for 220 hours (declared) continuously.

The journey begins with a book

Aditya Shankar Gangwar started reading the book from 9:30 am on Saturday morning to make the record. He chose a special book for his challenging beginning. The book which he started reading is titled ‘Manzil Aur Bhi Hain – Kuch Khud Badle Kuch Duniya Badle’. In his long journey, Aditya will not only read one type of material, but he will also read novels as well as books on management and finance.

Will remain without food for 9 days

This record attempt of Aditya is very difficult because he has to read the book continuously for 220 hours without sleeping. According to Guinness Book standards, after every hour of reading a book, he will get only a five-minute break. In this short break they will get a chance to keep themselves fresh. During these five minutes, Aditya will be allowed to drink water, juice, tea or coffee. But, the biggest challenge is that he will remain without food for nine days during continuous studies. This resolution reflects the zenith of his mental and physical stamina.

Plan to break the current record

Currently, the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous reading period is held by a young man from Nigeria. This record is of reading 215 hours. If Aditya Shankar Gangwar successfully completes the target of 220 hours, he will break the Nigerian record. He had mailed the Guinness World Records headquarters eight months ago for this record attempt. After a long wait, he was given permission from the headquarters for this challenging endeavor.

The record will be made under strict surveillance

Strict monitoring arrangements have been made to ensure authenticity of records and adherence to rules. To keep an eye on this record attempt, a team of 24 people has been formed, who will be deployed in different shifts and monitor Aditya. In addition, multiple cameras will also continuously monitor them to ensure full 24-hour video recording.
