Train services in Manchester are heavily disrupted this evening as emergency services say a person was taken to hospital after being found on the tracks.

Emergency services are currently dealing with the incident near the railway between Newton Le Willows and Manchester Victoria, meaning some lines are blocked.

TransPennine Express said that train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed this evening, with disruption expected for a number of hours.
