Desk: Hazaribagh Police has arrested 6 criminals in connection with the extortion case. In the information given to a news agency, the police officer said that 6 criminals have been arrested for demanding extortion of Rs 10 lakh from a quack doctor, Ghulam Rabani.

SDPO of Barhi sub-division of Hazaribagh, Ajit Kumar Vimal said, “We have arrested six miscreants who had demanded extortion of Rs 10 lakh from Rabani. These miscreants had also opened fire on the vehicle parked in Rabani’s house on November 6.”

An FIR has been registered in this regard at Barkatha police station and the matter is being investigated. Police have seized a country-made pistol, a motorcycle, eight cartridges and six mobile phones from the six arrested people. The arrested criminals have confessed to their involvement in the crime. The SDPO also said that the same mobile number was used to demand extortion from another person from Tatijharia. For which a case was registered in Tatijharia police station. The arrested people are residents of Hazaribagh district.
