Child Care Tips: Special care has to be taken of small children during the cold season because in this season they fall ill frequently and very quickly. In this season, a common question arises in the minds of new parents that can the child be kept wearing a diaper all day in winter? This confusion is common because if a diaper is not worn in winter, there is a fear of the child’s clothes getting wet, which can also cause cold. So let us know what things should be kept in mind if children are wearing diapers in this season.

change diapers periodically

Even if it is cold, do not leave the diaper wet for a long time. Check the diaper every 3–4 hours and change it immediately if it is wet. This will reduce the risk of rashes and infection.

Be sure to apply diaper rash cream

Every time before wearing a diaper, apply a thin layer of diaper rash cream or Vaseline on the baby’s skin. This will prevent irritation caused by moisture and friction.

let the air blow

Keep the baby without a diaper for 20–30 minutes at least 1–2 times a day so that the skin gets a chance to breathe. During this time, keep the room warm and cover the child with a light blanket or cloth.

Choose the right size and brand

Choose the right size of diaper according to the age and weight of the child. Diapers that are too tight can cause skin friction, redness or fungal infections.

Take care of cleanliness and hygiene

Before and after changing the diaper every time, clean the baby’s private parts with lukewarm water or wet wipes and dry them completely. The risk of infection increases when there is moisture.
