It is a lifestyle physical disorder, which cannot be completely eliminated. People are now becoming aware of diabetes and are improving their daily routine once it is identified.
18,881 persons have been diagnosed with diabetes in the district in the last six months. This disease is coming to light only after investigation. Earlier people did not get tested, due to which they came to know that they were suffering from diabetes only in the third or fourth stage, but by then their health was greatly affected.
Experts believe that disturbed daily routine and hectic lifestyle are responsible for this. The number of diabetic patients is continuously increasing in the district. Not only the elderly, but even children of 12 to 13 years are falling victim to this disease. 55,608 patients are undergoing treatment in government hospitals.

13 year old Zoya of Jyotisar is currently suffering from diabetes. His sugar remains between 435 to 500. Zoya has to take insulin three times a day.
NCD Corner Room counselors Malkit Singh, Anju Bala and Jaspal said that women are the biggest victims of BP and sugar. According to statistics, this disease is more common in women. Nursing Officer Anju Bala said that in the last six months, BP and sugar have been detected in 879 men and 1110 women.
