Uproar in Pak Parliament over Imran Khan, PTI gives 24-hour ultimatum to Shahbaz government

The situation regarding former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is jailed in Pakistan, is unclear. Shahbaz government and officials of Rawalpindi's Adiala jail are continuously claiming that Imran is absolutely healthy. But Imran Khan's family and his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are not ready to accept the government statement.

PTI sought clear answer from the government

PTI MP Faisal Javed said, 'Imran's family is not being allowed to meet him for three weeks. Even lawyers do not have entry. Javed demanded a clear answer from the government. On this, Home Minister Talal Chaudhary replied citing the rules, due to which there was an uproar in the House. The opposition members started sloganeering and the proceedings came to a halt for some time.

Talal Chaudhary said that Imran Khan is the most VIP prisoner. PTI Chief is getting a lot of facilities in jail. Which includes personal cook, doctor and exercise machine. PTI termed it as drama and said that the government is hiding Imran's condition. The party warned that if the family was not reunited within 24 hours, there would be protests across the country.

Imran in Adiala jail from 2023

Imran Khan is lodged in Adiala jail since August 2023. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested him in the Al-Qadir Trust case. In this case, Imran and his wife Bushra Bibi are accused of corruption. The opposition considers him a victim of a political conspiracy, while the Shehbaz Sharif government justifies these allegations. Imran's party PTI claims that all this is an attempt to suppress his popularity. PTI has clearly said that the struggle will continue till Imran's release.
