Strictly Come DancingstarLa Voix broke the internet last week when she announced that she would be pulling out of the BBC dance competition due to an injury. The beloved performer, whose real name is Christopher Dennis, made the announcement days before the BBC show made its annual return to Blackpool - something that had been a goal for her from the very beginning. But the fiery redhead made sure to go out with a bang, as TV execs announced that there would be no elimination this week due to her departure.
Despite her early exit, BBC bosses saved one final dance with her dance partner, Aljaz Skorjanec, on the famous bouncy dancefloor, where he carried her around the stage in a series of lifts for one last time. Now, less than one week later, the 45-year-old performer has announced that they will be returning to Strictly with a bang in the new year.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk ahead of her upcoming role in High Wycombe's pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, the TV star revealed that she will be reuniting with the Slovenian dancer on the Strictly live tour.
Despite rehearsals for the Christmas panto, she reassured fans that the show will still go on. She told us: "I never thought Strictly would end at one point. It was the most relentless, exhausting, challenging thing I've ever done in my life, and I loved every second of it.
"It really is sad that I've gone the other way with my foot injury, but what's wonderful is luckily, I can still walk, and all I need to be able to do on panto is talk, tell jokes and walk around the stage so the pantomime is safe and the show is going ahead.
"I just can't do a Cha Cha or a salsa for a while, which I never want to do ever again, which I'm fine with. I can put that to bed and say, 'I've tried it, thank you very much, Aljaz, but never again'."
However, the entertainer went back on her word almost immediately as she revealed that she has joined the star-studded cast of the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour next year.
La Voix squealed: "The Strictly tour has been announced this morning, so I'll be hitting the arenas! I'm looking forward to getting healthier, back on that dancefloor with Aljaz, and having a bit of a send-off.
"I had a great send-off on the show, don't get me wrong, but to get back with everyone and have that party post-show is going to be wonderful. And to do it live and to meet all the people who are such fans of the show, that's going to be so special for me.
"It's going to be a highlight to dance with Aljaz and know that that wasn't the last dance we did together before the injury. That's really amazing."
La Voix will be taking to the stage this Christmas at Wycombe Swan Theatre alongside Scott Mills and Mark Read. Speaking about the show, she gushed: "Pantomime is the thing that I've done the most of in my career, it's something I've done for 24 years.
"This is my third year back at High Wycombe at the Swan Theatre. Last year we had Vernon Kay and this year we've got another Radio 2 member, Scottland Mills, joining me, which is going to be wonderful.
"I've never done Jack in the Beanstalk before, so it's really nice for me to have a new storyline to do. It's a great story with a Giant and a beanstalk, and I think it's one of the only ones with a Pantomime ow in, which is just so traditionally fabulous.
"I think the kids are going to love it, and the adults are going to love it, and I'm going to love it, I'm so excited." Fans can book their tickets now on the Imagine Theatre website.
