India sends relief material to Sri Lanka: India has sent the second large consignment of relief material to Colombo to Sri Lanka, which was the victim of catastrophic devastation due to cyclonic storm ‘Ditwah’. India has
‘Sagar Bandhu’ Relief material has been sent immediately under the campaign. The Indian Air Force has sent 21 tonnes of relief material till Saturday morning. Along with this, more than 80 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel have also been sent to help, who have reached Colombo with more than 8 tons of special equipment. In such difficult times, India has once again come forward to help.

The Indian Air Force said that one C-130J and one IL-76 transport aircraft were dispatched from Hindon airbase with immediate effect. These planes landed at Bandaranayake International Airport in Colombo between Friday midnight and Saturday morning. The plane was loaded with food items, medicines, hygiene essentials and relief material for immediate use.
Earlier on Friday, the Indian Navy also helped in the relief work. Additional relief supplies were sent to Sri Lanka from INS Vikrant and INS Udayagiri.
