Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese married his longtime partner Jodie Hayden on Saturday. The historic wedding took place in a private ceremony held in the gardens of his official residence, The Lodge, Canberra.
The 62-year-old Prime Minister married a 46-year-old financial services employee. This is the first time that the Australian Prime Minister is getting married during his tenure. That's why this marriage in Australia remains a topic of discussion.
The wedding ceremony was very private and spectacular. While sharing a video on social media, Albanese wrote in one word – Married. In the video, he was wearing a bow tie and his bride, Jodie Hayden, was seen smiling in a long white dress as confetti fell around them. The couple wrote their own vows to mark the occasion and a celebrant officiated the ceremony. During the wedding, family and close friends surrounded them.
Albanese proposed to Jodie Hayden on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2024. At that time he had said that he has found a partner with whom I want to spend the rest of my life. Jody Hayden has been with Albanese for a long time. She worked closely with the Prime Minister in the 2022 election campaign and was also with him during his Labor Party victory in May this year. Their pairing was greatly appreciated by the public on both political and personal fronts.
After marriage, the couple will celebrate honeymoon in Australia from Monday to Friday. The honeymoon expenses were entirely borne by Albanese and Hayden, their office said. On the occasion of the wedding, the Prime Minister said that we are very happy to share our love and our resolve to spend a lifetime together with our family and closest friends.
