Hanuman ji politely refused and asked Shani Dev to stay away. Hanuman ji's anger increased due to Shanidev's arrogant words. After this, Hanuman ji wrapped Shanidev in his tail and started throwing him on the ground, due to which Shanidev's pain increased. At last, Hanuman ji applied mustard oil on Shanidev to reduce his pain, this gave relief to Shanidev and from then onwards the tradition of offering oil to Shanidev started.
