29 Nov 2025
IndiGo has confirmed that none of its flights were canceled due to a global software update advisory issued by Airbus for A320-family aircraft.
The airline said only minor delays were reported, with the longest being around 30 minutes.
It also revealed that 60% of its fleet has already completed the necessary updates from Airbus.
Commitment to safety and operational continuity
Safety assurance
An IndiGo spokesperson said they are conducting the necessary inspections and doing everything possible to minimize disruptions.
The airline is working closely with Airbus, the manufacturer of most of its fleet, on implementing the updates as per their notification.
"We regret any inconvenience this unforeseen situation may cause to our customers and appreciate their understanding," the spokesperson added.
Airbus warns of potential solar radiation risk
Radiation alert
Airbus had earlier flagged a potential solar radiation risk, warning that intense radiation could corrupt data critical to flight control systems.
The company also warned that a large number of A320 family aircraft in service could be impacted.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued an airworthiness directive addressing safety concerns regarding this software update.
Proactive measures and global impact
Precautionary action
Airbus has worked proactively with aviation authorities to request immediate precautionary action from operators via an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT).
The measure is intended to implement available software and hardware protection and ensure the fleet remains safe to fly.
It is estimated that around 6,000 aircraft worldwide could be affected by this update directive from Airbus.
