New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a holiday list for banks for December 2025 during which banks will be closed for 18 days due to various occasions. These holidays include the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays. To facilitate your bank-related activities we share with you the dates when the banks will be closed during December 2025 so that you can carry out your undertakings by planning well in advance as banks will be closed for 18 days. These include Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays. These holidays will not be uniform across the country but will vary from state to state. Bank holidays in December 2025 December 1 (Monday): Banks will be closed in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland for State Inauguration Day and Indigenous Faith Day. December 3 (Wednesday): Banks will be closed in Goa for the feast of St. Francis Xavier. December 7 (Sunday): Banks will be closed across the country on this day due to the Sunday holiday. December 12 (Friday): The death anniversary of freedom fighter Pa Togan Nenminja Sangma of the Garo tribe will be observed in Meghalaya. December 13 (Saturday): Banks across the country will be closed due to it being a second Saturday. December 14 (Sunday): Banks across the country will remain closed due to the Sunday holiday. December 18 (Thursday): Banks will be closed in Meghalaya on the occasion of the death anniversary of Khasi poet U Soso Tham. December 19 (Friday): Banks will be closed in Goa on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day. December 20 (Saturday): Banks will be closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Losoung or Namsoong. December 21 (Sunday): Banks across the country will be closed on this day due to the Sunday holiday. December 22 (Monday): Banks will be closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Losoung or Namsoong. December 24 (Wednesday): Banks will be closed in Mizoram Nagaland and Meghalaya on Christmas Eve. December 25 (Thursday): Banks will be closed across the country on Christmas Day. December 26 (Friday): Banks will be closed in Mizoram Nagaland and Meghalaya due to Christmas celebrations. December 27 (Saturday): Banks will be closed across the country as it is the fourth Saturday. December 28 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed across the country due to the Sunday holiday. December 30 (Tuesday): Banks will be closed in Meghalaya on the death anniversary of freedom fighter U Kiang Nangbah. December 31 (Wednesday): Banks will be closed in Mizoram and Manipur on account of New Years Eve and Imoinu Iratpa festival. Weekend Bank Holidays List Banks will be closed on the second Saturday across India on December 13. Banks will be closed on the fourth Saturday across India on December 27. Bank holidays on Sundays across India on these dates: December 7 14 21 and 28. Online Banking You can transact money or do other work through online banking and ATMs on bank holidays. While the banks will remain closed on these days the internet and mobile banking will work as usual and customers will be able to make online transactions easily. Customers are advised to visit their respective bank branches to know about the working days of the banks in their regions. PS: In the case of a month with five Saturdays the fifth Saturday will be a working day.
