Junior Men’s World Cup: India crush Oman 17-0, storm to top of the table

The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team continued their impressive run in the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025 with a huge 17-0 win over Oman in their Pool B match.
Earlier India had beaten Chile 7-0 and in today’s game their attacking skills were on full display. Manmeet Singh (17’ 26’ 36’) Arshdeep Singh (4’ 33’ 40’) and Dilraj Singh (29’ 32’ 58’) each scored hat-tricks while Anmol Ekka (29’) Ajeet Yadav (34’ 47’) Gurjot Singh (39’ 45’) Ingalemba Thounaojam Luwang (43’ 50’) and Sarda Nand Tiwari (55’) also added to India’s massive scoreline.
With this win India are now top of the points table with 24 goals ahead of Switzerland.
The match started cautiously. Oman defended well despite conceding an early goal in the 4th minute scored by Arshdeep Singh. India struggled to create more chances in the opening minutes but after the quarter break they returned stronger. Manmeet Singh scored the second goal in the second quarter followed by another goal from him in the 26th minute. Anmol Ekka and Dilraj Singh also scored ending the first half 5-0 in India’s favor.
The third quarter saw India in total control. They scored four goals in just five minutes with Manmeet completing his hat-trick and Dilraj and Arshdeep adding two each. Three more goals in the quarter put Oman under pressure.
With a 12-0 lead going into the final quarter India added five more goals. Oman who started the match positively couldn’t keep up and India’s goalkeepers kept another clean sheet.
India’s young forwards dominated the game from start to finish showing why they are strong contenders in the tournament.
