Kachori is a snack which many people like. After samosa, Kachori is the only one which people are ready to eat anytime. If you are also a Kachori lover, then today we are telling you the recipe to make delicious and crispy Kachori of Moong Dal at home.

Material

Flour – 2 cups

Ghee/oil – ¼ cup

Salt – ½ tsp

Water – as per requirement

Washed Moong Dal – ½ cup (soaked for 1 hour)

Fennel – 1 tsp (coarsely ground)

Asafoetida – a pinch

Ginger – 1 tsp (grated)

Red chilli – ½ tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Garam masala – ½ tsp

Mango powder – ½ tsp

Salt – as per taste

Oil – 2 tbsp (for frying)

Method

1- First of all, add salt and ghee/oil to the flour. Mix well and do this until the flour starts forming in the fist when mashed. 2-Now add water little by little and knead a soft dough. Cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it for 30 minutes.

3-Now filter the water and grind the soaked moong dal coarsely. Heat oil in a pan. Add fennel, asafoetida, ginger and fry.

4-Now add lentils and fry on medium flame until light golden. Add spices – red chilli, coriander powder, garam masala, dry mango powder and salt. The mixture should become dry and grainy – the stuffing is ready.

5- Now make small balls from the dough.

Roll the dough lightly and place 1-1.5 teaspoon stuffing in the middle. Lift the edges and close them well. Do not make it too thin, press it lightly and give it a round shape.

6-Now heat oil in the pan. When the oil becomes hot, add the kachoris in it and fry them slowly on low flame till they become golden. Kachoris fried on low flame always become more crispy and crunchy. Serve them with hot potato curry, chutney or curd.
