I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'s spin-off programme Unpacked was thrown into chaos as host Joel Dommett was forced to apologise after accidentally swearing.

The presenter's usual broadcasting was chaotically interrupted when he was "attacked" by an insect.

During Friday's live programme, the former I'm A Celebrity star spoke to Andi Peters and Kemi Rodgers after Alex Scott became the first star eliminated from the jungle.

The live evictions from the ITV series have begun, with the likes of Jack Osbourne, Ruby Wax, Eddie Kadi, Lisa Riley and Kelly Brook taking on Ant and Dec's bushtucker trials.

As they were discussing the episode on Unpacked, Andi suddenly exclaimed: "Oh my god!"

Joel then dramatically leapt from his seat as he started swatting at a fly, shouting out: "Ohhh f***ing hell, that's massive."

He very quickly recovered from the incident, reminding himself that he was broadcasting live.

"I'm sorry I swore," he apologised, adding: "That was absolutely petrifying."

Kemi meanwhile quipped: "That's the jungle everybody, we are really in the thick of it aren't we."

"I'm so sorry, I'm so glad we're not on ITV1 anymore," Joel added, while Andi joked: "And you've done this show! That was the best start to this show ever!"

Joel added: "Oh god, it was so close to my face. I'm really out of breath."

Fans were in hysterics, as one wrote: "JOEL JUST GOT ATTACKED I've never heard someone apologise for swearing SO FAST."

Another said: "It was brilliant," while someone else added: "How the hell did Joel Dommett survive in the jungle?"

"Screaming at Joel swearing on live TV," another laughed, while someone else echoed: "Not Joel swearing on live TV."

The Masked Singer host appeared as a contestant on I'm A Celebrity back in 2016, where he came runner-up to Scarlett Moffatt.

He began hosting Unpacked last year, saying at the time: "To say I'm excited to do live jungle based telly again is an understatement! I really adore the spin off show and I'm so glad it's returning for more in depth chats with A&D, the campmates and incredible guests.

"It's going to have a different feel to it, giving fans of the show extra goss and juice. I started my TV career there and fingers crossed I won't say the wrong thing on live telly and end it there too."

I'm A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX, followed by Unpacked on ITV2.
