Marcus Rashford has finally seen his wish of playing at the Camp Nou for Barcelona granted. The England international appeared for the La Liga giants as a second-half substitute on Saturday against Alaves.
The on-loan Manchester United forward had previously spoken of his desire to play in front of Barcelona fans at their iconic home ground, given Camp Nou has been undergoing £1.3billion redevelopment works and the Catalan titans had been unable to compete there as a result. Shortly after completing his move, Rashford said: "It's a very nice feeling.
"It's a beautiful stadium and when it is full it's going to be unbelievable. Camp Nou was always one of my favourite stadiums and one I wanted to play in."

He added: "But to play on it for Barcelona is going to be a different feeling. I cannot wait to be on the pitch. I will enjoy it."
As a result of the redevelopment, Hansi Flick's side played their matches at the Olympic Stadium at the start of the season. However, that all changed last weekend, when the club was granted permission to re-open the Camp Nou for their 4-0 win over Athletic Club, albeit, at a limited capacity of around 45,000.
Unfortunately for Rashford, however, he had to miss the homecoming game as a result of illness, instead watching from the side-lines. But the 28-year-old finally saw his dream come true on Saturday afternoon, gracing the hallowed turf of the iconic venue as a second-half substitute against Alaves in La Liga.
Rashford replaced Marc Bernal at half-time during the match, which Barcelona achieved a 3-1 win in thanks to a goal from teenage wonderkid, Lamine Yamal, and a Dani Olmo brace. Since joining Barca, Rashford has managed six goals and nine assists from 17 appearances, as he looks to impress at his new club.
Barcelona also have the option to make his move permanent next summer for a reported £26million, and they seem more likely than not to do so, given his impressive form as of late. The redevelopment of Camp Nou is set to be complete in 2027.
The capacity of the stadium will then officially expand to 105,000, making it the fifth-biggest stadium in the world. The La Liga table toppers have also lodged an application with UEFA to request permission to move their remaining Champions League home games to the stadium.
Up next for Barca is a home clash with Atletico Madrid come Tuesday, December 2, before they face Real Betis away four days later. Their next Champions League contest falls on Tuesday, December 9, when they face Eintracht Frankfurt on home soil.
