The Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India gives detailed information about these nine precious gems of Ayurveda, by adopting which both body and mind remain healthy and disease-free. These are not medicines, but everyday habits.
The first gem is to have pleasant and complete sleep, this is the biggest source of health and happiness. The second is to massage the entire body with oil daily, which keeps the skin good. This also provides energy to the body. The third is regular exercise or yoga, this keeps the body fit and the immunity strong. The fourth rule is to put two drops of sesame oil or cow’s ghee in both the nostrils as soon as you wake up in the morning, which is called Nasya Karma, this keeps head, hair and respiratory diseases away.
The fifth gem is to always eat at the right time and in the right quantity, neither more nor less. The sixth important rule is to never stop the flow of urine and stool forcefully. Preventing this leads to many serious diseases. The seventh is to strictly follow the daily routine and menstrual cycle. Waking up early in the morning, sleeping early at night and changing food habits according to the season.

The eighth gem is to regularly consume things like Chyawanprash, Ashwagandha, Shilajit, which give energy and long life to the body. The ninth and last gem is to follow the rules prescribed in Ayurveda according to the change of seasons. Adopting different diet and lifestyle in summer, rainy and winter.
Ayurvedacharya says that if you tie these nine things in knots and implement them in your life, then many diseases will automatically go away. When the body remains healthy, the mind will also remain happy and a better life will begin. Therefore, definitely include these habits in your life.
