Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has announced a "new addition" to her family after a heartbreaking loss.
Tuesday's (December 2) instalment of the popular ITV show was presented by Christine Lampard and also featured Nadia, Myleene Klass and Brenda Edwards as they explored the day's leading stories.
At the start of the programme, the panellists opened up about their pregnancies and whether their journey to motherhood boosted their body confidence.
Shortly after the candid discussion, Christine said: "Speaking of babies, Nadia has a new addition to the family, everybody."
Nadia jokingly replied, "I thought you were going to announce a pregnancy, I was getting all ready!" She then revealed that she has got a new puppy called Pepper.
"I've got a new puppy. We've got a puppy. She's [called] Pepper, she's a Miniature Schnauzer," the star shared, as a sweet clip of the new addition was shown on screen.
The news comes after Nadia's beloved dog Chi Chi passed away in October after being diagnosed with acute renal failure.
Nadia went on: "As many of you will know, a few months ago, we lost our Chi Chi, who was the sweetest, kindest dog ever. And it was actually Coleen [Nolan] that said to me, 'Don't wait too long. Just get another dog.'
"My eldest, especially, was really suffering with grief. [Pepper] doesn't replace, that's the fear. It was just the amount of love we felt straight away, it was ridiculous. We only got her on Sunday, we're all obsessed."
On the change to her family dynamic, the star added: "What's so lovely is, because before when we had our dogs, the kids had been small. Now, I'm a grandmother.
"So, when I came down this morning, my daughter was like this [in a panicked voice], 'She woke up at three and five and six, and she still wants food'. And I went, 'Yeah, that's motherhood'.
"Mark [Adderley, Nadia's husband] and I are getting all the cuddles, and the girls are having to do all the other stuff. But I still did wake up at half past four this morning, [I'm] a bit knackered."
Nadia continued: "I didn't know much about Schnauzers before, but they're the sweetest, craziest dogs. Nosey, nosey, nosey. Her mum's called Daphne and her dad's called Ted. Daphne and Ted gave us the Spanish Inquisition before we could take her away. So, we're really excited about her character. Insane [to get her] around Christmas time."
Christine added: "No, it's lovely. Perfect. I'm really happy for you. Gorgeous Pepper."
