If a child passes urine on the bed at night while sleeping, then it is considered very normal. Indian mothers ignore it considering it to be innocence whereas it is not so. Experts say that if this happens continuously for many years then it can also be a health problem. Children between the age of 5 to 10 years are more vulnerable to this habit. It is believed that if the child is doing this even after the age of 7 years, then he needs to be seen by a doctor or specialist. This habit of passing urine on the bed knowingly or unknowingly goes away with age, but this harms the self-confidence of the child. Also, this problem sometimes becomes a cause of embarrassment for the family.

Many times parents scold the child for waking up in the morning and due to this he becomes mentally disturbed. In this article we are going to tell you why this happens to the child? Also know some Ayurvedic remedies which can reduce this problem to some extent.

causes of bedwetting

If we talk about its physical reasons, it indicates that the functioning of the child's bladder is affected or there is lack of control in it. Experts say that if the bladder is not fully developed then there is difficulty in controlling urination. According to Ayurveda, this is an imbalance in Vata dosha.

If the child is in deep sleep, then the signal of bladder being full does not reach his brain.

Some children have urinary tract infection i.e. UTI and parents are not able to recognize it. Due to this also the bladder becomes weak. In Ayurveda, this is called a problem related to Pitta Dosha.

Some children get this problem from their parents. Here we are talking about genetic problems. If it is already present in the parents, then the child also becomes vulnerable to it.

Effect on mental health

Do you know that even if a child is facing some kind of mental health problem, he can make this mistake. In Ayurveda, it is considered to be due to Vata and Pitta dosha which affects the nervous system.

If the level of anti-diuretic hormone in the body is low then more urine is produced at night. In such a situation, the child urinates more while sleeping.

Ayurvedic remedies to solve the problem

  1. If you want to treat bedwetting through Ayurveda, then for this you will have to take some herbal medicines, change in lifestyle and adopt home remedies. Doing this will help in balancing the defects of the child and will improve the nerve response.
  2. Make a home-made medicine by mixing 50 grams black sesame, 25 grams celery and 100 grams jaggery. Grind black sesame and celery and make powder. Melt the jaggery, mix both the ingredients and make balls. Give two tablets to your child daily by mixing them in milk and see the difference.
  3. Mix 2 spoons of honey in half spoon of Amla powder. Make a paste and make your child lick it in the morning and evening.
  4. Feeding Amla mixed with black pepper to the child strengthens the bladder. There is a lot of Vitamin C in both these things. In this way you will also be able to strengthen your child's immune system.
  5. The problem can also be solved with mustard seeds. For this, grind 1 teaspoon mustard seeds and mix it with honey. It reduces Vata dosha.
  6. Train the child to pass urine. For this, make him into the habit of urinating in the gap. Make sure to pass urine before sleeping at night.
