16 files of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein have gone missing from the website of the US Department of Justice (DOJ). These also include a photo of President Donald Trump. These files disappeared in less than a day after being uploaded on the website. However, the government has not given any clarification on this nor has any information been given to the public.
The missing documents included photographs of paintings of nude women and a photo of Trump, Epstein, Melania Trump and Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell. The Justice Department did not say why the files were removed or whether their disappearance was intentional. A department spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Now the mysteriously missing files have fueled speculation about whether they were deleted and why the public was not informed. This deepened the long-standing sense of mystery surrounding Epstein and the influential people around him. Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee pointed to the missing image of Trump in a post on X, writing: What else is being hidden? Transparency is important to the American public.
The development deepens concerns already emerging following the release of highly anticipated documents by the Justice Department. The thousands of pages made public reveal no new information about Epstein's crimes or the prosecutorial decisions that allowed him to avoid serious federal charges for years.
Let us tell you that under the recently implemented law, documents related to Epstein were made public. However, the most anticipated documents were not made available, including FBI interviews of victims and internal notes of officers' trial decisions. It was not clear why decisions were taken in the federal case against Epstein at that time and on what basis he was allowed to confess to a minor crime.
Many big names like Britain's former Prince Andrew are recorded in Epstein's files, but little information has been given about them. This is raising questions as to which people were properly tested and which were not. The new information also included previously unseen facts, such as the 1996 complaint alleging Epstein stole photographs of children and that the Justice Department withdrew from the federal lawsuit in the 2000s. However, most of the material included photos of Epstein's homes in New York and the US Virgin Islands, as well as photos of some famous people and politicians.
Many such photographs of former President Bill Clinton were revealed which had never been seen before, but there were very few photographs of Trump. Both their names were linked to Epstein, but later both of them distanced themselves from their friendship. Neither of them have been accused of any wrongdoing in any of the cases involving Epstein, and there is no indication that the photographs played any role in the criminal cases brought against them.
