Rules of Tulsi Puja: Worship of Tulsi is considered very important in Hindu religion, because Tulsi is considered the form of Goddess. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi resides in Tulsi. One should do parikrama after performing aarti of Tulsi Mata. Mantras of Tulsi Mata should be chanted.
It is prohibited to touch the Tulsi plant after sunset, hence one should not pluck Tulsi leaves in the evening even by mistake. While lighting a lamp in Tulsi, a seat of rice should be given. Hair should not be kept open while worshiping Tulsi. Tulsi Aarti should be performed in the evening, but water should not be given even by mistake.
