US President Donald Trump has said that America has now become a real United Nations. Trump said that the United Nations (UN) has done very little help in resolving the ongoing conflicts and wars in many countries. Trump has given this statement at a time when there is ongoing ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia. He also claimed to resolve 8 conflicts and wars including India-Pakistan.
Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social that the war between Thailand and Cambodia will stop immediately and both countries will live in peace again. He said that this decision has been taken as per the already agreed treaty between the two countries. Trump praised the leaders of both the countries and said that they found a solution quickly and fairly.
Trump said that America is proud that it helped create peace. Criticizing the United Nations, he said that the UN was not successful in many conflicts of the world. Trump claimed that in the first 11 months of his second term, he helped stop 8 wars. He said that America has now become the real United Nations because the UN did not make any significant contribution in these matters.
Referring to the war between Russia and Ukraine, Trump said that the situation there was serious and the UN did not play an effective role. He said that now the United Nations should be more active in establishing peace in the world. Trump is scheduled to meet Ukrainian President Zelensky on Sunday. this meeting Will be held at Trump's residence in Palm Beach, Florida. Possible peace plans to end the Russia-Ukraine war will be discussed in the meeting.
Trump has criticized the United Nations before also. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly session in New York in September, he said that in many cases he had to take action himself, while the United Nations did not even try to help. The 8 conflicts that Trump has claimed to resolve include the disputes of Thailand-Cambodia, India-Pakistan, Kosovo-Serbia, Congo-Rwanda, Israel-Iran, Egypt-Ethiopia and Armenia-Azerbaijan.
Fighting between Thailand and Cambodia resumed on 7 December. The United Nations acknowledged that attacks were increasing in areas far from the border. America appealed to both the countries to fully implement the terms of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Agreement.
