He was a little nervous because he expected Maria to marry another Catholic boy who would do a 9-5 job and this caught the Muslim boy and that too unemployed."
Arshad further said, "He had this feeling in his heart that I am a good person. He was confident that he would take care of our daughter. But gradually he realized that there is no one better than me. He is now very happy and lives with me. His self-respect forces him to live in his house, but we somehow made arrangements and brought him here."
Arshad Warsi also told how his love story with Maria started. Arshad met Maria for the first time in Xavier College, where he had gone to judge a competition. Their friendship deepened when Maria started doing theater plays with him. That friendship gradually turned into love. However, Maria refused him several times before saying yes.
