Kia EV2: Kia has officially taken a significant step forward in the European electric vehicle market by unveiling the EV2, its smallest and most budget-friendly electric SUV to date. Designed to serve as the new entry-level model in the brand’s growing electric portfolio, the EV2 sits below the EV3 and is targeted primarily at urban and suburban users looking for practical, efficient, and modern electric mobility. Production of the EV2 will take place at Kia’s Zilina manufacturing facility in Slovakia, reinforcing the company’s commitment to European-focused electric vehicle development.
Despite being the smallest electric SUV in the lineup, the EV2 reflects Kia’s evolving design language in a confident and contemporary way. The vehicle adopts a clean, upright stance that gives it a strong road presence, even within the competitive B-segment category. With a length of 4,060 mm, width of 1,800 mm, height of 1,575 mm, and a wheelbase measuring 2,565 mm, the EV2 is engineered to balance compact dimensions with usable interior space.

The dashboard is dominated by a dual-screen setup consisting of two 12.3-inch displays, one serving as the digital instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment system. For customers seeking a sportier and more upscale feel, the GT-Line variant sits at the top of the range. It features 19-inch wheels, ventilated front seats with memory functions, Digital Key 2.0 technology, and distinctive high-gloss exterior accents that enhance visual appeal.
Safety and driver convenience play a major role in the EV2’s appeal. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems designed to enhance confidence behind the wheel. These include Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Follow Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Highway Driving Assist 2.0.
A notable highlight is the inclusion of Remote Smart Parking Assist Entry, a feature that allows the driver to park the vehicle in tight spaces using the key fob while standing outside the car. This segment-first technology is especially useful in crowded urban environments where parking space is limited.
The EV2 offers flexibility through two battery choices. The standard 42.2 kWh battery provides a driving range of up to 317 kilometers, while the larger 61.0 kWh battery extends the range to approximately 448 kilometers. Both battery packs operate on a 400-volt electrical architecture, enabling efficient performance and charging.
Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to recharge from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes using DC fast chargers. For AC charging, the EV2 supports 22 kW charging, enabling a full charge in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Compatibility with 11 kW home chargers ensures convenient overnight charging for daily use.
