Google UCP Protocol: Now the way of online shopping is going to change completely. Google has launched such a system through which users will be able to buy products directly from Google Search. For this, the company has introduced a new Universal Commerce Protocol i.e. UCP. With this, everything from finding the product to payment and delivery will be done at one place. Big companies like Shopify, Walmart, Target and Flipkart are also associated with Google in this.
Google's Universal Commerce Protocol i.e. UCP is a new open system, which makes online shopping completely easy. Through this, the entire process from searching the product, seeing its price, purchasing it and getting support later will be on a single platform. It connects digital agents, shopkeepers and payment companies. The special thing is that it also works with already existing systems like Agent2Agent and Model Context Protocol. This means that the need to visit different apps or websites will be reduced.
Google has not created this UCP system alone but in collaboration with big companies like Shopify, Etsy, Wayfair, Target and Walmart. Apart from this, more than 20 companies like Visa, Mastercard, Flipkart and Best Buy have also supported it. Users will get direct benefit from this because they will get the option of shopping from trusted brands directly on Google. This will also reduce the fear of online fraud and transactions will be more secure.
With the help of UCP, Google has added AI Mode in Search and a new checkout feature in Gemini app. Users in America will be able to pay directly through Google Pay by clicking on the product shown on Google. In this, the same card and address which is already saved in Google Wallet will be used. Soon PayPal support will also be added to it. That means the entire journey from search to delivery will be completed within Google. However, information about when this facility will be available in India has not been revealed yet.
Google is also bringing a new business agent, which will work like a virtual salesman. It will start with companies like Lowe's, Reebok, Michaels and Poshmark. Along with this, a feature called Direct Offers is also being tested, in which special deals will be shown to the user at the time of purchase. Petco, Samsonite and E.L.F. Brands like cosmetics are included in this. Its purpose is that the users who are in the mood to buy, get the right offer at the right time.
