Big action by Punjab government, two senior IAS officers suspended, 2 transferred

Punjab government has suspended two senior IAS officers. The two officers who have been suspended by the government include Kamal Kishore Yadav and Jaspreet Singh. The action of suspending both the senior officers has been implemented with immediate effect. This is considered a big action of CM Bhagwant Mann government.

According to the government order, IAS officer Kamal Kishore Yadav, who was posted as Administrative Secretary in the Industries and Commerce Department. He has been suspended under Rule 3(1) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969. During the suspension period, his headquarters will be Chandigarh and he will be given Subsistence Allowance as per rules. In the second action, IAS officer Jaspreet Singh, who was working as the Managing Director of Punjab Infotech. He has also been suspended with immediate effect. During the suspension, his headquarters has also been fixed at Chandigarh.

Know why action was taken

It is being told that as per the orders issued by the government, action has been taken against both the officers on administrative grounds. Along with suspending IAS officers Kamal Kishore Yadav and Jaspreet Singh, an Additional Chief Secretary and a Joint Secretary have also been transferred. At the same time, the Punjab government is on the target of the opposition after the murder of Aam Aadmi Party leader Lucky Oberoi in Jalandhar on Friday morning. Akali Dal and BJP are continuously targeting the government. Leaders of both the parties have alleged that miscreants have become unbridled in the state.

Sukhbir Singh Badal attacks AAP government

Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal has attacked the Punjab government while posting on X. He wrote, 'Punjab is drenched in blood under the 'zero fear' government of Aam Aadmi Party. The situation is so bad that now even your leaders are not safe in their own government. The murder of Aam Aadmi Punjab leader Lucky Oberoi in broad daylight outside a Gurudwara in Jalandhar is proof of this.

Sukhbir Singh Badal further wrote, 'After 9 murders in the first week of the year, about 25 murders have taken place in January 2026 alone. These are happening everywhere, be it a court complex, a busy market, a wedding venue or outside Gurdwara Sahib. Bhagwant Maan, you are not worthy of staying on the chair even for a day.
