Firing has been done on National Conference President and former CM of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah in Jammu. This firing incident took place in Greater Kailash area of Jammu, where an unknown assailant opened fire on him. According to the information, Dr. Farooq Abdullah narrowly escaped during the firing and was not injured. After the incident, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the area.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and cordoned off the entire area. The police took immediate action and arrested the person suspected of firing. Farooq had gone to Greater Kailash area to attend the wedding of a lawyer. Why and for what purpose the accused attacked him is not yet known. The accused is being interrogated.
When Farooq's car was fired upon, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary was also with him. Officials said that the accused has been identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal. Immediately after the incident, the security personnel arrested him.
