The thing to note is that Atiq Ahmed has not been shown as a former leader of UP in the film. Although he definitely looks like a Bahubali equipped with political power. When Dhurandhar 2 starts, Ranveer Singh's back story is shown first. He is young, going to join the army, but is helpless in front of the needs. In such a situation, he is first taken to Allahabad to join Atiq Ahmed's gang. In the film, Atiq's name has been given as Atif Ahmed, but his appearance is completely like Atiq. In the very first meeting, he tells Jaskirat Singh about his black business intentions and gives him a task. But the real game of Atif Ahmed is seen almost around the interval.
There was a lot of discussion about 'Bade Saheb' before the release of Dhurandhar 2. Major Iqbal i.e. Arjun Rampal, who became the ISI chief, is seen repeatedly talking to 'Bade Saheb' on the phone. Hamza Ali i.e. Ranveer Singh does not understand who is this big man even above the head of ISI. When Arjun Rampal makes him meet Bade Saheb, Ranveer Singh comes to know that he is Dawood Ibrahim. Danish Iqbal has played the role of Dawood very well.
However, in the film, Dawood Ibrahim has been shown very helpless but full of hateful anger. Dawood has grown old in the film. He is in the hospital bed. He is coughing but there is still poison against India in the veins of his heart and mind. He keeps teaching ISI and his henchmen to create chaos within India. And for this he has two plans. One- supply of narcotics in Punjab, second- supply of fake notes through Nepal.
Where Dawood is lying on the bed, on the wall above his head, there is a photo of the real Dawood in his youth, which all of us must have seen countless times. By seeing Dawood lying on the bed and coughing in the film, you can imagine how he would have looked in old age.
You might remember that Khanani Brothers were mentioned in Dhurandhar Part 1 and their printing press for fake notes was also shown. The role of Javed Khanani of Khanani Brothers has increased in the second part. Through Dawood, he is given the contract to supply fake notes worth thousands of crores in India. The issue is UP elections. ISI, Dawood and Khanani together advise that Atif Ahmed can prove to be the biggest means to stop the change of power in UP. He has been shown to be very trustworthy of Dawood and ISI.
But how will fake currency worth thousands of crores reach Atif Ahmed before the elections in UP, so for this the name of Yakub Ansari based in Nepal comes to the fore, who can deliver the fake currency to Atif. But before all this happens, demonetization is announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India.
The film tells that demonetization was announced only on the basis of fear of activities and conspiracies to destabilize the country. According to the film, the input of an undercover agent of India sent to Pakistan had revealed that terrorists from across the border were planning to send about sixty thousand crore fake notes to India at the behest of ISI. And this huge supply of fake currency was to happen before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections but before that demonetization happened and all the Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes remained just pieces of paper.
In Dhurandhar 2, it is shown that due to the announcement of demonetization, not only Javed Khanani, who printed fake notes in Pakistan, but also ISI Chief Major Iqbal, Dawood in Dubai and Atiq Ahmed, who is in jail in India, were upset. His plans were foiled. Then at one place in the film a dialogue comes- Well, the wind has changed in India now.
