Every year, before the start of the new season of IPL, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gives some new rules and regulations to all the teams. Many times a new rule is introduced in the tournament, while sometimes rules and regulations outside the field are also explained. Regarding the IPL 2026 season, similar guidelines have been given by BCCI to all the 10 teams, which include some important rules like movement of players' families and practice.

Starting from 28th March 19th season of IPL For the last few days, all the teams have been engaged in practice. Many players are also present with their wives, children or girlfriends and this trend will continue throughout the season. This happens every year because the players are busy for two consecutive months, in such a situation the family is allowed to stay together. But despite this, there are some guidelines for family members also.

Separate vehicles for players and family

These rules and regulations have been revealed in a report by Cricbuzz. According to this, the board has told all the franchises that on practice days, players will reach the stadium only by team bus but their family members cannot stay with them. Family members and friends will have to come to the stadium in a separate vehicle. Also, they will not be allowed to enter the field and can watch the practice only from the hospitality area of ​​the stadium.

Important rules related to practice

Apart from this, BCCI has also imposed some restrictions regarding practice sessions and dressing of players. The board has made it clear,

1. No team will be allowed to conduct practice sessions on the field on the day of the match.
2. No fitness test of any kind can be conducted in the area near the pitch (Main Square) on the day of the match.
3. The players leading in the race for Orange Cap and Purple Cap will have to wear them during the match. If a player does not wear any kind of cap then he will have to wear it for at least the first 2 overs so that the broadcasting team can show them.
4. Also, there is a ban on wearing sleeveless jersey and floppy hat (round cap) in post match presentation. Violation of this will result in a warning for the first time and a fine for the second time.
