He said that North East is the growth engine of India. The mission of the government is to link the digital highway with the development of the North East. There is immense economic potential in North East, it is being linked to the global economy.
Jyotiraditya Scindia Said that North East is such an important part of the country, which has not been given attention for the last 65 years. He told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a clear view on this. PM Modi is working on the mission of connecting the development of North East with the mainstream of the country. He said that the North Eastern region has the diversity and potential which can make a clear contribution to the development of the country.
Jyotiraditya Scindia said that Prime Minister Modi gave a new word after much thought – Ashtalakshmi. Carried his mission forward. He said that North East will have to become the growth engine of India. Along with this, Scindia also said that it is the result of the government's mission that during the last decade, today India's growth rate is about two and a half times more than the world's growth rate. Where the world's growth rate is two to three percent, India's growth rate is seven, seven and a half percent.
Meanwhile, Jyotiraditya Scindia also said that you will be surprised to know that the eight states of the North Eastern region are growing at a growth rate of ten to thirteen percent in the last ten years. He said that this growth rate shows how far ahead of the world we are. The growth rate of these eight states has proved that they are the growth engines of the country and all this has happened because of the vision of Prime Minister Modi.
He said that during the last 12 years, there has been unprecedented growth in every sector of the North Eastern region. Scindia said that if we look at the area of roads, where earlier there were 10 thousand kilometers of national highways, there has been an increase of sixty percent in the last decade. Similarly, if we look at rural roads, 45 thousand km of roads have been constructed. Similarly, see that in 2014 there were 9 airports, now there are around 17 airports.
He said that there was not a single airport in two states, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Today there are four airports in Arunachal Pradesh. Similarly, only one state capital was connected to the railway network. Today four state capitals have been added. By 2027, the capitals of seven states will be connected to the railways.
Scindia said that 18 projects worth Rs 80 thousand crores are going on in the north-eastern states. Today, Asia's largest road bridge, rail cum road bridge has been built, earlier this could not have been imagined. Looked at this way, the area with a population of about 4.5 crores has seen a radical change in the last ten years. Tremendous consciousness has awakened among the youth there. The literacy percentage there is more than 90 percent.
