Satta Sammelan 2026: 'It is a matter of shame that a song is being spoken about in Parliament...' Nilesh Mishra angry over the controversial song of Nora-Sanjay Dutt

Today is the second day of What India Thinks Today Summit 2026. Big personalities from politics, entertainment, cinema, sports and business world are participating on the stage of TV 9's Satta Sammelan. Global issues are being discussed openly on this platform. Meanwhile, some big personalities from the cinema world also reached this program of TV9 and expressed their opinion.

Famous scriptwriter and storyteller Nilesh Mishra, lyricist Sameer Anjaan, Indian poet Yatindra Mishra and Alok Srivastava arrived to participate in TV9's What India Thinks Today Summit 2026. Nilesh Mishra said a big thing about the deteriorating language in films and songs in today's times.

What did Nilesh Mishra say on Sarke Chunar?

Recently, there was a lot of controversy over the obscene lyrics of the song Sarke Choonar from KD: The Devil. When Nilesh Mishra was asked a question on this matter, he said - My views on this subject are very clear. In my own personal journey, my only thought remains what impact it is having on people. Ever since we came into the world of algorithms, it has also changed us as individuals. We are suddenly getting to see and hear things which were not so easy for us to hear earlier. Earlier too, adult films were shown, but children were not allowed to enter that hall.

'This is a huge responsibility'

Referring to Ranveer and Samay Raina, Nilesh Mishra said - As soon as the content we are creating goes on YouTube, it becomes public and with a public thing comes a huge responsibility. Just as you have freedom of expression, I also have the right to be offended. I have the right to be angry according to an audience. We do not want to go into the counter narrative. We do not need any censor in freedom of speech. We don't want this, but we want dignity. The audience easily gets addicted to anything.

Nilesh said- If we do not fulfill our responsibilities then we have no right to be on the stage. How will the artists who are creating this kind of content today look back at their careers tomorrow? Addiction is easy, but someone has to take a stand. Someone wrote, sang, composed that song, someone directed it, someone danced but no one took a step on it. It is a matter of shame that such songs are being discussed in Parliament.
